Position Summary

A large tertiary medical center in Kansas City is seeking a Director of Emergency Services to oversee operations of a high-volume ED and affiliated freestanding sites. This leader will be responsible for patient safety, quality, financial performance, and fostering a collaborative culture within the department. The role requires proven ED leadership with a track record of improving performance metrics and outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide oversight for daily ED operations, staffing, and clinical quality
• Lead and mentor leaders and frontline staff across multiple ED sites
• Drive patient experience initiatives and ensure efficient patient flow
• Manage budgets, staffing plans, and department resources
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards
• Collaborate with hospital executives and physician leaders on service line growth

Education & Experience

• 2+ years of recent acute care Director-level ED leadership required (may consider strong Manager with proven performance at a high-volume ED)
• Bachelor's degree required; BSN preferred
• Master's degree preferred
• Strong financial acumen and ability to drive quality and performance metrics
