Position Summary
The Regional Vice President of Benefits, Risk Mitigation is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the Pathway to Care and Wellness program. This role is dedicated to reducing healthcare-related costs for employers and employees while enhancing the overall employee experience. The VP will lead a team of Clinical Advisors and other key personnel to execute five core initiatives aimed at mitigating financial risk and improving plan performance. Through strategic partnerships, education, and outreach, the VP will ensure the department fulfills its mission to proactively guide employees toward costeffective healthcare solutions and improved wellness outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Clinical Advisor team to achieve departmental goals.
- Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the department's mission and core initiatives
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, carrier partners, and external vendors to ensure seamless execution of programs.
- Monitor and report on departmental performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.Initiative Oversight1. COBRA Administration Optimization
- Oversee education efforts for COBRA-eligible individuals regarding alternative coverage options.
- Establish and maintain SLAs with internal teams and external partners.
- Ensure delivery of stewardship reports to carrier partners and track outreach effectiveness.2. Telemedicine Utilization
- Promote telemedicine as a primary care solution to reduce unnecessary urgent care and ER visits.
- Lead educational campaigns using real-life claims data to demonstrate savings.
- Track utilization metrics and employee engagement through webinars, lunch-and learns, and team meetings.3. Medicare Transition Program
- Manage partnerships with vetted Medicare providers or internal specialists.
- Oversee performance monitoring and SLA compliance.
- Report outcomes and successes to carriers and stakeholders.4. Prescription Drug (Rx) Optimization
- Identify high-cost prescriptions impacting plan performance
- Guide plan members toward lower-cost sourcing options.
- Collaborate with carriers and funding partners to implement Rx savings strategies.5. AIMM Integration
- Ensure AIMM bridge products are effectively integrated into master plans.
- Maintain SLAs and performance tracking with AIMM partners.
- Monitor implementation consistency and impact on plan performance.Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to measure initiative success.
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership and carrier partners.
- Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve outcomes.Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison between the department and external partners.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to support initiative execution.
- Represent the department in strategic planning sessions and leadership meetings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Management, organization teamwork, enthusiasm, willingness to learn, customer service, conflict management, agile, proactive, decisive, technical.
- Significant leadership and management experience in the human resources field.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors Degree or Above
- 6+ years of group benefit experience
- 3+ years supervisory experience
- Insurance license Health and Life preferred
- RN Preferred
