Our mission is to provide high-quality, free civil legal advice, representation, and education to the disadvantaged of Broward County. We have more than 125 employees, including more than 50 attorneys, who provide free services and resources across a broad range of civil legal issues that impact health, safety, and self-sufficiency. Position Summary
Our company has an immediate opening for a Program Manager for its FFLA Pro Bono Project. The Program recruits private attorneys to provide pro bono legal services to those individuals who qualify for the services of Legal Aid and identifies and gathers the individuals in need of these services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Continue to develop and implement a rollout plan within the community for Broward County residents to receive pro bono legal assistance.
- Recruit pro bono attorneys to perform this work by contacting and establishing and maintaining relationships with local bar associations. laws offices, attorneys and corporate counsel.
- Identify and gather clients in need of these services by coordinating with local resources, businesses, churches, and organizations who serve individuals in the community who would be most likely to be in need of the services.
- Develop and distribute promotional materials, brochures, flyers, mailings, and maintenance of data.
- Travel around Broward County to recruit attorneys and identify and gather individuals in need.
- Assign cases to pro bono attorneys, gather and provide all necessary documentation for representation, and maintain contact with these attorneys to ensure that both attorneys and clients have a rewarding experience.
- Assist with resource development throughout the year for program continuation and growth.
- Input data and prepare reports for grants.
- Perform any and all other duties that may, from time to time, be required by the supervisor or Executive Director.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Substantial knowledge of Windows Office.
- Experience working with low-income community.
- Experience in volunteer and event management.
- Experience in data input and reports.
- Knowledge of Spanish and/or Creole preferred.
- Self-motivated.
- Organized.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
