Guardianship/Estate Planning Attorney - FL - On Site

Position Summary

Our company has an opening for a full-time Guardianship/Estate Planning Attorney to provide direct legal representation to caregivers of minor children who are not under the care of their biological parents and are under the legal care of a kinship caregiver. The attorney will represent caregivers in Guardianship and Guardianship Advocacy cases, draft wills and other estate planning documents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing a full caseload.
  • Meeting with clients to determine appropriate legal advocacy.
  • Participating in court hearings, mediations, negotiations, and staff meetings.
  • Legal research and drafting of pleadings.
  • Conduct outreach to community organizations to promote the Kinship Project's services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently while valuing collaboration with a team.
  • Willingness to travel within Broward County.

Education & Experience

  • Member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
  • Experience or background in probate, guardianship, and/or estate planning is preferred.
  • Courtroom experience is preferred.
