CNC Machine operator - AZ - On Site

Position Summary

Operating CNC machine loading and unloading of various casting or cut stock for machining meeting print and customer’s requirements in safe and efficient manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Load and unload machine upon cycle completion.
  • Assist CNC setup during setup procedures such as loading and unloading of required tooling length as indicated by setup sheet.
  • Obtain all required tooling for up coming job. Insure that tools required for job are properly sharpened and position in tool holder at the proper tool length as indicated by setup sheet.
  • Remove tooling from previous job. Inspect for defects. Tag and mark for proper tool sharpening.
  • Take and record all dimensions as required on Inprocess Inspection form. During the machining cycle.
  • Inform CNC supervisor of process problems.
  • Deburr of parts during idle time.
  • Able to use and understand inspection procedures and equipment
  • Operate CNC machine for machining of components.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Know and understand speeds and feeds for different material
  • Blue print reading,
  • Capable of using measuring tools such as micrometer, calipers, depth Micrometers and indicators
  • Understanding tool use such as drills, reamers, boring bars.
  • Know and understand speeds and feeds for different material.
  • Must be able to communicate with all shop and management personnel.
  • Physical demands: Standing, bending over table during part insertion and removal of components, opening and closing of machine doors during normal operation, listening to machine to determine malfunctions of equipment or Tooling. Non-allergic to cutting fluids. 
  • Math: Have good machine shop math skills. Capable of using trigonometry during problem solving.
  • Language: Understanding and speaking English
  • Mechanical: Must have good mechanical skills and problem solving skills.
  • Spatial: Must be able to read and interrupt blue prints.

Education & Experience

  • High school or trade school preferred. Will accept GED
  • 5 years experience
