Physician Assistant - CA - On Site

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide clinical services and develops and implements the plan of care in conjunction with supervising director when necessary.
- Obtain patient medical history and perform physical examinations and preventative health measures within prescribed guidelines.
- Initiate necessary laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Interpret laboratory and test results.
- Confer with a supervising medical director(s), clinical staff, and other care providers to ensure optimum patient care and prepare a comprehensive patient care plan. Refers to the appropriate medical director for more complicated medical cases or cases that are not a routine part of a PA's scope of practice.
- Obtain consultations and referrals as appropriate.
- Respond to patient inquiries, answer, and refer questions to the physician/medical director as appropriate.
- Document all patient care services in the electronic medical record.
- Provide health education counseling to patients and families as appropriate and supports programs for patients and their families.
- Answer questions about the condition and treatment plan.
- Participate in and supports performance improvement and risk management activities.
- Complete required continuous training and education, including practice-specific requirements.
- Demonstrate professional work behavior and comply with organizational policies and procedures and federal and state requirements.
- Work closely with medical directors and clinical staff in a team approach to patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
- DOT Certified
- X-Ray Tech experience
- Urgent Care or Hospital/Emergency Room experience is essential
- Must be comfortable seeing the full spectrum of patients in an Urgent Care setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team.
- Demonstrated professional competence and integrity, and ethical conduct of practice.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and practical conflict resolution skills.
- Patient-focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patients.
- Strong computer skills and EMR knowledge.
Education
- Master's degree and successful completion of accredited physician assistant program.
- Current licensure as Physician Assistant by the state of California.
- Board certification.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
