The Physician Assistant will be a trusted team member providing care to our patients and a trusted partner to the clinical team, center staff, and the Executive Leadership team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services and develops and implements the plan of care in conjunction with supervising director when necessary.
  • Obtain patient medical history and perform physical examinations and preventative health measures within prescribed guidelines.
  • Initiate necessary laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Interpret laboratory and test results.
  • Confer with a supervising medical director(s), clinical staff, and other care providers to ensure optimum patient care and prepare a comprehensive patient care plan. Refers to the appropriate medical director for more complicated medical cases or cases that are not a routine part of a PA's scope of practice.
  • Obtain consultations and referrals as appropriate.
  • Respond to patient inquiries, answer, and refer questions to the physician/medical director as appropriate.
  • Document all patient care services in the electronic medical record.
  • Provide health education counseling to patients and families as appropriate and supports programs for patients and their families.
  • Answer questions about the condition and treatment plan.
  • Participate in and supports performance improvement and risk management activities.
  • Complete required continuous training and education, including practice-specific requirements.
  • Demonstrate professional work behavior and comply with organizational policies and procedures and federal and state requirements.
  • Work closely with medical directors and clinical staff in a team approach to patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

  • DOT Certified
  • X-Ray Tech experience
  • Urgent Care or Hospital/Emergency Room experience is essential
  • Must be comfortable seeing the full spectrum of patients in an Urgent Care setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team.
  • Demonstrated professional competence and integrity, and ethical conduct of practice.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and practical conflict resolution skills.
  • Patient-focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patients.
  • Strong computer skills and EMR knowledge.

 Education

  • Master's degree and successful completion of accredited physician assistant program.
  • Current licensure as Physician Assistant by the state of California.
  • Board certification.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
