Health Care Receptionist - CA - On Site

Responsibilities
- Greeting and Registration
- Welcome patients, visitors, and vendors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Check-in patients, verify and update personal and insurance information.
- Direct patients to appropriate departments or staff members.
- Appointment Scheduling
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Send appointment reminders and follow-up communications.
- Communication
- Answer and manage incoming calls, emails, and faxes promptly.
- Relay messages accurately to appropriate healthcare personnel.
- Provide information about services, policies, and procedures.
- Administrative Duties
- Manage patient records ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process insurance claims and handle billing inquiries.
- Collect and record patient payments and co-pays.
- Office Maintenance:
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and presentable.
- Maintain office supplies and order new stock as needed.
- Patient Support
- Assist patients with forms and documentation.
- Provide information about wait times and ensure patients are comfortable while waiting.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with healthcare providers and administrative staff to coordinate patient care.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a receptionist, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in using EMR systems and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is an advantage.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
