Position Summary

We need an organized and communicative Data Engineer with experience organizing and transforming data with experienceworking in the HCM/PEO industry to help us navigate each conversion project. This key player will beinstrumental in interfacing with our organization, collaborating with them to perform detailed data analysis in order to complete a smooth transition of the data between systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze and organize raw data
  • Build data systems
  • Evaluate business needs and objectives, documenting the requirements and keeping meticulous mapping and translation documents
  • Troubleshoot problems, identify possible solutions, and resolve accordingly.
  • Interpret trends and patterns, evaluating the data to identify gaps and get clarity on resolution
  • Conduct complex data analysis and report on results
  • Prepare data for import, performing necessary data translation and mapping activities
  • Combine raw information from different sources
  • Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
  • Identify opportunities for data acquisition
  • Develop analytical tools and programs

    Participate in projects to continuously improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.

  • Provide guidance to team members to assist with issue resolution
  • Lead by example to create an environment where accuracy, teamwork and commitment are expected and supported

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Self-motivated professional capable of working with minimal supervision, ability to reflect and hold yourself accountable while working under pressure and meeting concrete deadlines
  • Must have strong organizational skills, be able to prioritize and quickly switch between projects and priorities
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external employees with diverse backgrounds
  • Better than average written and spoken communication skills with the ability to adjust messaging depending on the audience
  • Operates with a high attention to detail, forward thinking throughout the process to identify & mitigate risk and make necessary adjustments to ensure conversion project success
  • Experience seeing projects through from start to finish, ensuring every task is completed with a high degree of accuracy

Education & Experience

  • Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
  • Great numerical and analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
  • 2-3 years of payroll or benefits or tax administration required, with experience in PEO, ASO preferred
