Position Summary

The Residuals Manager will primarily be responsible for the management & facilitation of the processing of union residuals calculations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily To-Do List updates:
    • New qtly statement
    • Incoming payment, payment method and project status.
    • New collection statements
    • New invoices from CAMA (Freeway, Fintage House, etc)
  • Respond to client/CAMA/talent/guild inquiries pertaining to:
    • Setup questions, discuss with Clients as needed.
    • Payment questions, discuss with Clients as needed.
    • New qtly statements: confirm receipt and provide an ETA to clients.
    • Profile updates: address, SSN, Corp etc.
    • Tracking information Request
    • New setup inquiries: email responses to new residual processing request, ABS's fees, and initial setup requirements.
  • Initial Setup document review: review the information provided by the client to ensure we have all that is needed to initiate the setup.
    • Residual Processing Request
    • Cast list
    • Main & End Credits
    • CRD, if applicable (applicable when more than one crew member in any category. i.e., Unit Production Manager (UPM), First Assistant Director (1st AD), Second Assistant Director (2nd AD)
  • Residual Setups:
    • Complete residual model prepared by Coordinator/Analyst.
      • Review to ensure the information was transferred correctly.
      • Review pension rates and minimums for accuracy.
      • Confirm days worked are accurate, per the performers base pay.
      • Remove any categories/days excluded for residual purposes i.e., stunt riggers.
      • Communicate credits vs cast list discrepancies and missing information to the client and finalize setup when info is provided.
      • Ready for Approval Email: create schedule PDF's and send them to the client for approval.
      • Request internal IATSE reports for proration purposes, when applicable
  • Residual Payments:
    • Review collection statements and/or quarterly reportable revenue.
    • Enter reportable revenue onto ABS's residual model.
    • Ready for Processing Email: create schedule PDF's and official invoice and email to client for approval/funding.
  • Create Electronic Folders:
    • Setup, Payment, Emails
    • Save download and save all files provided by the client.
  • Complete residual model:
    • Copy all talent from the original cast list to ABS's residual model.
    • Add DGA and WGA members as applicable.
    • Confirm we have SSN/FIN for all SAG/DGA/WGA members.
    • Add pension rate, minimums.
    • Cast list vs Credits Review: review the credits and cast list and identify any discrepancies.
  • Check processing:
    • Train new staff
    • Assist check processing with volume as needed, or during downtime. Turnaround time should be reduced to 1 week for all projects.
      • Update To Do List with tracking number, completion date, P&L, and project status.
    • Packing: print, package, and mail checks to the guild(s).
    • File electronically.
  • Monday Follow ups: "pending payment” and/or on "hold” project statuses on a weekly basis according to our follow up guidelines.

Education & Experience

  • High school education; or up to one-year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
