Manager of Sales - NY - On Site

Position Summary

This Manager of Sales is responsible for setting & meeting sales targets and profitability, as well as managing the assigned staff. Travel is occasional, 2-4 times a year at most, during the business week only, and typically strategic in nature (customer relations). Close daily work with engineering, operations, and business unit management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Power Generation industry with exposure to Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and other turbine users.
  • Familiarity with the Power Generation industry and related sectors.
  • Collaboration and cooperation in an international business setting.
  • Leadership and management, especially in a sales team context.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key business units.
  • Strategic thinking for joint business development and placement of business.
  • Adaptability to potential changes in reporting structure based on experience and growth within the company.

Education & Experience

  • US Citizen
  • Strong Cultural Understanding of North America and / or South America
  • Spanish Speaking a plus, not in any way a requirement.
  • College degree, Engineering, Science, or Technology preferred. Technical experience may substitute. On a daily basis solid speaking, writing, social & cultural skills may be utilized alongside knowledge of materials, manufacturing methods, macroeconomic trends & marketing.
  • Leadership ability with experienced, largely self-directing reports.
  • Technical Sales experience in power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, Marine or other allied industry.
  • Inside technical sales experience, quoting & estimating, interaction with customers.
  • Manufacturing background in a machining environment utilizing steel, titanium, aluminum and similar materials, or technical background in operation or maintenance of turbines & rotating equipment.
