Position Summary

The Property/Casualty Agent Consults with prospective clients to discuss and understand their insurance needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Procure Commercial P&C Quotes/Policies by creating submissions and working with the clients and insurance carriers.
  • Work with insurance carriers and clients on policy changes, cancellations, and other policy services/client services.
  • Calculates reasonable premium quotes using the information gathered.
  • Maintains communication with clients to identify changing needs in services, property, or account information.
  • Explains the insurance products available, the different coverage types, and the benefits of each plan.
  • Maintains communication with clients to identify changing needs in services, property, or account information.
  • Collects information such as location, value, and outstanding debts about the property to be insured.
  • Manage insurance policy expirations working with the carrier and clients on policy renewals.
  • Create and manage Insurance Product cross selling campaigns for current clients of Nexus & Vensure.
  • Continue skill and knowledge development for selling and servicing P&C Lines of Business to different types of Risks/Clients.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software., knowledge of AMS360 Insurance Software a plus
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills.
  • Strong sense of business ethics including the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with multi-company/divisional highly desirable.
  • Exceptional time management skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with other internal departments and external insurance sources.

Education & Experience

  • Associate's degree
  • Bachelor's Degree a plus
  • 3 Years or more as a Commercial Lines Account Manager.
  • Property & Casualty Insurance License.
